old people myths

Guys,

Its important to respect and look up to elders as they have seen it all and you can always learn from their experience. However sometimes the stupid ideas and ways of living are so comical you have to wonder if the other things they try to teach you that you don't know about might be a bag of air. Feel free to post your myths.

Ill start it off,

I was told several times by older folks that putting hot tea in the refrigerator to cool would "burn the motor"

Was also told by an old technician that taking a picture of a TV while its on can damage it as the flash does not agree with the TV screen
