spoke to one rally competitor who said Q "I eh missin' out...I'm doing the TWO events..." UQ

I have no doubt that he is capable....we'll find out about the car on the day.....good luck to him...

I m wondering the same thing. The way they started the warm up laps was totally wrong. It gave some of the riders and drivers the impression that it was a race.

Shouldn't the riders have a briefing or understanding prior to warmup and race?

yes there should have and there is always a briefing prior to the start of the races. I don't know if it was mentioned. In F1 the warm up lap or formation lap or reconnaissance lap what ever you want to call it is always lead and controlled by the safety car where there is no overtaking, its mainly used to warm up tyres. I don't know how correct I am k. But yes it was sad that someone had to get injured.

i haven't seen (or heard of, for that matter) an official report on the incident.
TTASA sanctioned the event & would have had marshalls, stewards, etc (RACE DIRECTOR).... at the event, so, no doubt, an official statement from the ASN will be forthcoming.
