So under the UNC, it was $90M to finish the facility and $100M to fatten the UNC cabal's bank accounts?

So the stadium must not be finished and made possibly the largest sports revenue earner for the govt?

For the first time in a long time I on ZR here....why did this stadium go from 200m to 1 billion all under your beloved PM as line minister for Udecott??
With regard to cost, it seemed clear that the original estimate given in February 2005 in the sum of $272m was unrepresentative of the building which subsequently came to be designed and put out to tender. As noted in Section 23 below, the likely overall costs will have escalated some 2½ times. Part of this is accounted for by events and circumstances which were not foreseen at the date of the original estimate; however, a major part of the cost escalation must be attributed to the development of the design of the Stadium. While this was, from the outset, to be designated as "world class", the early decision to bring in internationally renowned designers seems to have been taken as an indication that there would be no constraint on the design. The roof design eventually adopted was needlessly costly, inappropriate and should not have been approved. An additional element of excessive cost arose from the needless overdesign of the steel structure in the absence of proper design information. In retrospect there is no good reason why a much more simple and cost effective design could not have been adopted, similar to that used for the existing stadia at Manny Ramjohn, Larry Gomes and Dwight Yorke Stadium at Bacelot, Tobago. UDeCOTT
should have drawn this to the attention of the Government at a time when a review of the design was still feasible.

$34M a year to have foreign nurses
By ANDRE BAGOO Saturday, February 8 2014
MINISTER of Health Dr Fuad Khan yesterday said it cost $34 million to staff hospitals with foreign nurses last year. Speaking during debate of legislation to reform the nursing profession, Khan said the Nurses and Midwives Registration (Amendment) Bill 2014 would potentially increase the number of nurses available on hospital wards, so much so that citizens could expect State medical care at health facilities to be available 24/7.
The legislation proposes to remove a mandatory examination which all nurses must sit in order to practice and replace it with a system of the granting of provisional certificates. The move would mean that graduates with nursing degrees or diplomas would be able to start working as nurses immediately, pending further qualification.
Khan said it cost $34 million to “inject” 300 foreign nurses into the system from Cuba, the Phillipines, St Vincent and the Grenadines and other countries. He said there is a tremendous shortage of nurses not only locally but internationally.
“The health sector is now facing a crisis and there is an incredible shortage of nursing staff,” the Minister of Health said. “There continues to be a severe shortage of nurses. This continues to be a perennial problem.”

Khan: Uganda doctors not coming
Wednesday, May 27 2015
HEALTH Minister Dr Fuad Khan yesterday said Trinidad and Tobago was no longer seeking to recruit medical personnel from Uganda to fill vacancies in the local health sector.
Khan made this comment in response to an Associated Press report which said plans for the “export” of 283 Ugandan medics to the Caribbean have been halted after that country’s foreign affairs ministry said most of those shortlisted were government employees and so ineligible.
According to that report, Ugandan activists said its government is now scared after its plan to send doctors, nurses, midwives and other specialists to Trinidad and Tobago met fierce opposition. Ugandan foreign affairs spokesman Fred Opolot told AFP the process was “on hold, awaiting a cabinet decision”. Opolot said that if the government approved the scheme it would mainly “target the private sector and those who are unemployed.”
