Fire Stick; Assistance Reqd.

Postby professor » January 23rd, 2016, 3:10 pm

I bought a fire stick with Kodi preinstalled. while attempting to install an Addon, I experienced some problems, and in an attempt to get out, I selected 'Reset to factory defaults'.
I ended up without Kodi and could only access Amazon programs.
I tried reinstalling KODi using ES Explorer, was going fine, until, when I tried selecting the Android file, an error messsage said; 'Broser no longer supported, go to Google Store'
I have managed to download another file, but cant add as I dont know the path etc.
i am looking for someone who can get me back to where I was when purchased. Anyone in the Chaguanas area? Willing to pay for expertise (resonable cost) .
Text me at 620-6745.
Thanks.

Check the ignition circuit. Could not resist...

I don't have a Fire Stick myself, but my ChromeCast gave some problems when it was using the USB port from the TV for power. It generally worked a lot better using a power supply that could supply the rated amperage.

Besides that, don't know if you already have, but maybe factory reset again and try this video? Some good info in the comments too.

OP if you have an android device, you can dl an app called apps2fire and this will allow you to install kodi via this route. You will need to get the IP address of the firestick and input it into the apps2fire app. This method is pretty easy . Apps2fire works by installing apps to your firestick that are already installed on your Android device so you will need to go to the app store and DL kodi to your Android device.

You can obtain the IP address by going to:
Fire tv settings-system-about-network and you will see the IP address of the firestick there. You will need to input this into the apps2fire app that is installed on your Android device.

Thanks for all the responses. I got assistance from 'Dean', he walked me through the process, and I am once more back to where I was before the incident.
Thanks to all once again.

Dean, special thanks to you for your time and experience.
