Mosquito creek flood out.

Postby nervewrecker » March 11th, 2016, 7:23 pm

There are reports that motorists and commuters are stranded on the South Trunk Road, near Mosquito Creek.

Reports are that the high tide has brought water up onto the roadway but to make matters worse, an unfinished barricaded road, which was moved by the public to get a shortcut out, has eroded due to the traffic on it and some vehicles are sinking.

CNews understands that after numerous calls to the police a party of officers were dispatched to the scene.

The police are advising commuters to refrain from using the unfinished road.

Fellas you all need to use your Rangers to pass through those back roads instead of putting other people meat on the bonnet.

Back in the 1980s that used to be a normal thing every full moon. I remember many evenings having to bail out water from my fathers Renault 12. They need to put more boulders in the sea to break the surf and hold the water back.

Being the environmentalist, I would prefer they complete the highway and condemn this causeway on the creek, to Let the mangrove extend naturally.
A lot of top soil flows out to the sea without the mangrove to retain it and reclaim the land. The road is really low and seawater regularly washes with high tide.
Yeah, it would cut off othahetie from the brisk commute to San Fernando, but the environment doggie.
If u need that connector road, I would have liked to make a raised roadway, on pylons above the height of the trees.
But the kinda money for that won't be available to the country any time soon.
