Postby Cowboy » April 8th, 2016, 4:35 pm

Good day Tuners I have Four Brands to choose from:
Puma

Campbell hausfeld
I am going to use Compressor for Spaying Cupboard Doors an Bedroom Doors looking for something reliable an easy parts availability. Any help or suggestions would greatly be appreciated.

Ingersoll Rand is probably the easiest for parts. Once used properly, all will be fairly reliable. Go for one with an industrial background if you are going for continuous use in a shop environment etc.

If it's for casual home use then all will be fine, depending on your budget.

When the local dealer inevitably stops stocking parts in 10 years (when it may finally need something), it will be easy online for an IR.

A word of advice for Tuners on the hunt for a Compressor DON'T buy Price Mart Compressors. I made the mistake an ONLY got to use it THREE times for 20mins each time an the MOTOR OPEN got three months warranty an by then warranty up, i took it back and service center told me NO PARTS AN SERVICES so be careful Tuners.

i painted my car and several other items, working almost like brand new.

I have one of their 28 gal Pulsar compressors now and works as expected. Used an air hammer just yesterday to remove some tiles for the better part of 2hours. Almost continuous running for the compressor to barely keep up with the hammer.

Gotta give it time to cool every now and again as smaller compressors are not meant to run continuously most times. I wouldnt trust a continuous duty cycle rating on those.

Puma is a good brand , the ones that i have seen do perform well enough but the pump and the motor are chinese made , but they probably have better quality control, the fact that the pump is cast iron and is oil lubricated will extend the life of the unit , personally i prefer campbell hausfeld , you can call tyre clinic in couva they are the agents , and you may still be lucky enough to get a made in usa pump and motor.

I have a 6060 Puma in my shop now (the Pmart one is home use) no issues going on 2 years of auto shop use. Ditto on chinese pump. Motor made in Mexico, ironically branded US Motors.

Have you considered Quincy compressors, they are also reliable . Any 60 gallon compressor will work for you , get a good dryer and after dryer , 50' of piping will help reduce water into the dryer as well.

cowboy not sure of the model #, as i have seen them at use i work , but they are the twin cylinder model in a vee configuration, powered by either a one hp motor or two hp motor , so far they are standing up good , they are belt driven , and you may have to replace the belt sooner than expected but once you use a good quality belt you are good for a long time .

Assuming that you mean a brad or finish nailer, you can use a small, pancake or torpedo unit with a 2.0 CFM capacity single-stage compressor.

If you don't need portability or if plan to build furniture or if you want to run garage tools, you may want something larger or quieter.

And of course it depends on your budget.

Yes for a brad nailer, but liking your suggestions. Where locally and what brand would you recommend?.
