Gotta admit though, the redesigned model looks good.

Kirk's Enterprise and Enterprise D and Voyager appeared in DS9 as well..... and none played any big roll

because all the fancy CGI makes everything look so futuristic compared to TOS

They try to explain why Discovery's systems look so futurist was because its impressively new, fresh out of the shipyards at the start of the show and would have been equipped with most of Starfleet's most advanced prototype technologies in contrast with the relatively old USS Enterprise which would have been around 12-15 years by the time we see it in Discovery and super old by the time Kirk gets her in TOS. She was so old they had to refit her to keep up with the new ships 40 years is a long time for a starship to remain in use.

If the USS Defiant looked the part in Star Trek Enterprise with no fancy bridge I hope they stay true in Discovery as well. To bad we will have to wait till 2019 to see what she looks like inside......

Far as many trek fans are concerned they should have just bought out axanar & made that a series or continue the timeline after picard because that's what everybody wanted, not jj trek movies (which they have lost millions on) or a half baked series on a pay for access service that has lost thousands of subscribers who hate the series to the point Netflix is not interested in paying for the series production anymore.Them forcing to make it prime timeline is just killing it faster.

The visual effects were good as usual (especially the pod scene), the shoe-horned "humor" didn't work at all and the new storyline just continuing to piss-off Trek fans.

5/10.

...couldn't make it through the second episode nuh, it's now officially off the watch list.

Thank God for The Orville yes, Seth is doing what he can to keep the spirit of Star Trek alive.

S2 Ep1 was soooo bleh....the actress who played the scientist marooned in the rock was godawful
Why is Pike saying 'hit it' instead of 'punch it'?
And just when you thought Tilly couldn't get any more fugging annoying...

I enjoyed the first two episodes tremendously, and the fact that MG Man didn't proves how good it is.

last two episodes was pretty good . Star Wars style space battles

Plus we get to see why Spock never spoke of his sister and why discovery was never seen in TOS. Captain Pike even saw his future and it scared him.

Season 2 was really good!
Interesting that instead of each episode being a different story, they kept the same single plot for the entire season - really well too.
I'm very curious to see what the future brings in Season 3!!!

I think we will get to see that the modified probe from the future that attacked captain pikes shuttle was sent by control to get the sphere data in the past to give to itself in the past because obviously a copy of control went to the future as well with discovery.

So the fight isn’t over.

Meh,the fans would rather see a captain Pike series than that section 31 crap.Considering he has been the best thing this season they might do it with the good reviews of him/fan polls & attention the idea has gotten at various events. With CBS spending alot of money behind discovery but not making it back (people leaving CBS streaming service in droves, which they used discovery to promote,Netflix refusing to continue the series after season 1)They are scrambling to start the Picard series hoping it will pick up the slack & earn back what they lost but we will know in a few months if it will work out.
