That's not National Geographic, that's from The National, a TV show from the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation.

Still though, that is really disturbing having a river of sewage.
I wonder what they'd find if they checked our water ways?

CBS did a video on the one in Rio and found virus and bacteria 1.7 million times higher than the US. A good question is what they would find in our water ways aswell a lot of people in this country send out their sewage water down our ravines and drains. I know someone on my side who reported his neighbor to the ministry for sending out his sewage water down the mainroad drain, apparently according to our own ministry he was allowed to do it but he needed to use stones so that only sewage water comes out.

Which is amazing I had no idea you could legally send out raw sewage water into our drains in this country.

I think diving pools are kept at a warmer temperature than swimming pools - maybe that could be the cause of the algae bloom in that pool alone.

The sand filter is not working to capacity again, the sand filter just needs to be treated and it will get clear with in 24 hours fixed a couple pools like this already

The pool's color is due to algae.

Nah. Trinidad beaches atleast are much cleaner. I mean where have you seen such massive black sewage piling up at any of our beaches? we actually have sewage treatment plants in this country.

Which is weird considering that Brazil has way more money than we do and can't treat their sewage. I think their corruption might be much higher than ours.

Their problem is about the same as ours. But they have 200 times the population. We are far less people so our atrocious environmental standards don't produce as alarming consequences, there is a lot of untreated sewerage flowing into our waters. Right on maracas beach it's happening

But Trinidad is the 4th richest country in the western hemisphere after USA, Canada and Bahamas
