Stuart Defeated - Forced to cave in!

Stuart Young has been forced to provide the criteria that he is supposedly using to allow people to return home for the first time publicly. This, in response to an FOIA application from Devant Maharaj and pressure from two overseas stranded citizens Raehana Lorick and Joanne Pantin who filed cases on the basis that Young's constant refusal to disclose the criteria was a breach of their constitutional rights to equality and fairness.

When the decision to allow CPL cricketers to come in was announced, Young was asked to state the criteria that the government was using to allow persons to return. He refused. The Express Editorial of July 12, 2020 criticized his actions:

"The Government needs to be far more forthright on both. It was shocking, for example, to hear the recent comment by National Security Minister Stuart Young that while the Government has set criteria for granting approval to nationals who have applied for permission to re-enter the country, it will not divulge the criteria because people might argue that they qualify under one or the other. Such defence of a lack of transparency was simply staggering"

It's a pity that Young had to be taken to court and embarrassed into action. Now that the criteria have been disclosed, however, it raises more questions than answers as many persons who fulfill the criteria were refused entry whilst others who did not, were granted exemptions and allowed to come in.

nah shakes, that was announced months ago, nothing secret about that provision, and it applies to all immigrants not just Venes. Zoom I was in Grande last week to plant some coconut trees, Venes around for at least the last 5 years I find now I seeing them less and I does be in Grande weekly

Stuart just grandstanding. He will not take legal action against anybody because it will open his family dealings up to further investigations. He just playing up for the public.

The Express and who ever have to prove that Richard Young was involved in the way it is claimed.
