"the wastage of natural resources"
Speaking of wastage: why was there a need for the PM to bring Le Hunte all the way from Ghana, have him renounce his citizen ship in order to appoint him as Minister. Exactly what special skills does Le Hunte bring to the table, that was not available locally ?
So ,he couldn't find a local YES man ?

We pay .05 usd per kwh.
We pay this because the NG that is used is heavily subsidized.
So like fuel every unit used COSTS more to produce than it is sold for.
Your focus on the storage is irrelevant.
Typical....but irrelevant.
For the last time it is up to power generating companies to determine what the power demand of the day will be
TTEC buys power from these companies, they pay at the meter so they pay for what they use. They do not pay for is not used.
That is still no excuse for TTEC to raise prices unless the Power generating companies are forced to pay a higer price.Redman wrote:zoom rader wrote:Redman wrote:Again

And if every kwh USED is subsidized then money is being lost.
Thanks for the correction on the prices.Redman wrote:Its TTEC that purchased the NAt Gas at a heavily subsidized rate.
They then pay Power Gen,Trinity TGU to convert.
The subsidy is where the losses begin.
Remove the subsidy, and get full value for the NAt Gas.....and at the same time reduce the wastage by consumers that abuse the low cost energy.

Misguided attempt to excuse PNM cluelessness again. Most of the $700 million dollars owed to TTEC is by ministries and industrial consumers. Why not make a serious attempt to collect the sums owed? Why, as usual, only go after the individual who will not make a substantial dent in TTEC's owed money anyway?

PNM will never take action on the illegal connections in Beetham and laventille.De Dragon wrote:zoom rader wrote:That's why I asked who are these ppl that are owning TTEC, it's not the avg Harrylal. Red Plastic Bag is seemingly in favour of leaving millions in debt unpaid, while going after hundreds from people already reeling from mismanagement and taxes in dey rukunkungkutung.
Maybe having an illegal connection immunizes him from common sense.

Having collected all outstanding....we will still be faced with the simple fact that the cost of production is greater than the Selling price.
So we the people pay the subsidy (forgoing better prices for the Nat Gas) and then pay for the electricity.....a circular path with the only money being extracted by the independent generators- TGU,Trinity and Powergen...all whose shareholders are receiving massive dividends. Some% of these are private individuals.
PM Rowley calls for early general election nominees
Bobie-Lee Dixon
In a bid to get candidates elected and "out in the field" more than a year before the 2020 general election, Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley has called for the nominations for several seats including Chaguanas East, Point-a-Pierre, Barataria, and Cumuto-Manzanilla.
The announcement was made by PNM party chairman Colm Imbert at the PNM's General Council Meeting at the Balisier House on Tranquility Street, Port-of-Spain.
Imbert also revealed screening for candidates for Local Government elections for the PNM would begin on July 6, 2019. He said the screening process will take place in Sangre Grande for the region of Toco and regional corporation candidates will also be screened in Mayaro.
Screening, according to Imbert, would continue for quite an "intense period" on the set dates—July 7, 8, 10 and 11—in the Southlands—Point-Fortin, Siparia, San Fernando. Then it's on to San Juan Laventille where screening will be done for the Tunapuna/Piarco Corporations.
Internal elections for party groups, constituency executives and various organs of the party, such as the National women's League is also in "full swing", Imbert said, as it moves towards the party's upcoming convention.
Imbert also spoke about the launch of the party's new PNM website-www.pnm.tt carded to take place on June 24.
The party's Public Relations Officer Laurel Lezama-Lee Sing said a "media mechanism" called PNM Plus, a forum which forms part of the new website, is an access tool specifically designed for the media to make "things more usable and easier".
