One meal a day really seems to be the sweet spot once you get accustomed to it. Pharmacies have hydration packets with sodium and potassium salts that helps. I use it once I cross 24 hours of fasting just as a precaution.
I'm bumping you to update this.
So i did it. 7 days! 7 full 24 hour periods of fasting with no food! I feel great, i feel amazing! I am fit and capable of any task, my mind is sharp and focused.
I took a few months of researching a lot of literature by Dr. Jason Fung and Dr. Megan Ramos and many others in the medical fields. I read research papers dating back to 1915. Understanding the biochemistry. Reading about the religious practices of humans and fasting that was practiced for over 5000 years. The Buddhist practices were very revealing.
I put myself in nutritional keto. I trained my body with a few 3 day fasts over several weeks. Then today i made 7 days.
No food. Just salt and water. Essential minerals i added to my drinking water in precise amounts were magnesium citrate, potassium chloride, zinc gluconate and sodium chloride. An isotonic solution like IV drips. I continued to lift heavy iron every 2 days on, 1 day rest for the 7 days. No measurable muscle loss with the lifting. I had immense energy after the 3rd day, and the salt water is the secret to maintaining one's strength and beating the fatigue and any cramps. I almost blacked out once, it got cold and black and my vision was spinning, but salt immediately fixed it. There was absolutely no real hunger experienced. Only psychological hunger at times, and i tried to meditate to make myself aware of the temptations and food addictions that we have.
By the 3rd day my body had increased autophagy and became more efficient in ketosis. I feel like i have accomplished one of those difficult great tasks in life that every man should face and overcome. I did it, I alone kept myself in check every day, so i know that i am capable of some amount of mental resilience under pressure. I recommend periods of fasting for everyone who is capable. Even if it's a 20/4 hour fast/feed. Then increase it to a 24 hour period per week. Fasting is the miracle cure that modern medicine has always been seeking, but alas, there is no money in it.
