I asked and tttl rep said that there was a noise emanating from the drivetrain. the owner bought it in a few times to check but, the noise was not constant enough to determine whats wrong. The owner obviously got annoyed because of tttl inability to find the problem in one shot.... The problem was eventually diagnosed as the driveshaft which Toyota changed.

People just react differently to certain situations and I guess tttl wanted to be sure of the problem before changing parts by a feeling or guess.

Have a revo doing almost 30000km no problems so far, works really good, know someone with one also doing over 50000km and the only issue is that he had to shave his rotors, other than that the 2.8 is as smooth as new
