PHEV and EV ioniq are the same price in foreign markets

So price should be around the same in T&T 240 and 270 when it lands.

Don't think you need to do anything special

Can't speak for the Ioniq specifically, but as far as I'm aware, the car should be used sporadically to ensure the battery pack and especially the regular battery doesn't run down completely.

If it's the regular HEV and not the PHEV....just put a smart charger on the 12v accessory battery to run at the lowest charge amperage to keep the battery from draining over the period that you are away for....smart chargers trickle charge the battery and automatically turn off and on as needed to keep a float charge in the 12v battery..

First service? Call and make an appointment at any of the service centers. I'd suggest Arima or the one in Diego. According to the crowd you'd be in an out within an hour. First service takes about 30mins.

Like they just change the filter and not the oil?

Did my second service at the Diego service center about 4 weeks ago. Saturday morning. They open at 6am. Someone came for their first service in their Ioniq, and the CSR told her it makes no sense leaving to come back cause the car will take about 30-40mins for the first service. They serviced two Ioniqs while mine was still being checked out. They are quick and very efficient.

My first service was at 5503km. My second was at 12762km. Came up to $1566.02. Ended up using the remainder in Massy points and paid $724 in Cash. I'd try to make it on time for service the next time. But the car was working very well at 12000km and time was an issue for me.

Are they gonna make you stick with their service and intervals to maintain warranty on that battery?

It wasn't a problem to be honest. But I'm going to try to stick to it to avoid any problems later on.

To be honest, the amount of money I'm saving on gas alone is worth it. Last time I filled up was June 30th.

Around 1200km. I'm gonna be just under a 1000km a tank this time. And I could make it if I continue to drive economically.

Hyundai Ioniq in Trinidad...

I asked a rep this question.

The response was that to maintain the 3 year warranty on the car, it was expected that the company perform all maintenance for that period.

After the 3 years are up, you are free to seek maintenance services outside of the dealer, since there is no longer any warranty to maintain on the car.

However, to maintain the 10yr warranty on the battery they require you to do a "check" on the lithium ion battery every 6 months and of course that has to be done at Massy.

No mention however if there was a cost involved for that "check", or what it involves.

Co-worker got one of the full electric. He say no spare tyre... It have some air pump with a liquid to seal a leak. Maybe cause the battery bigger, no spare wheel space.

Forgive me if the question dumb but my only experience with hybrids is the Prius in Gran Turismo 4.

Are hybrids all a single forward gear or do some of them have a multigeared auto transmission like in conventional vehicles?

Depends on the hybrid set up

Honda insight, accord and odyssey hybrids and nissan e power going with a set up with no transmission. Engine charges the battery and battery runs the electric motor to power the car directly.

Hyundai ioniq, toyota prius, honda fit and vezel hybrid have multigear cvt's and DCT transmissions.

the full EVs have no tranny.

Note that the Prius only simulates a CVT. The "transmission" is two motors connected via planetary gear sets. They just spin at different speeds.
