THE BEST VAN

Postby cracker » April 3rd, 2017, 8:27 am

So I am thinking about upgrading to a van I have been hearing a lot of talk that the new Ford Rangers are having a transmission problem. I do not have any proof whatsoever any one can shed some light on the topic? Also, what do you all think about izuzu? Thanks

Would like to hear what others have to say for a change

What have I seen so far
One man put a sticker in the back of his Toyota saying that it is a $300000 piece of trash
Another tuner was only to happy to sell his np300

My new opinions
Ranger is the best looking and most expensive and physically very solid

Consider a hilux not sold by TTTL

What about the new sportero? If it's anything like the previous generation it will be rock solid. Not the best looking of the bunch, but a comfortable machine that can do work when required.

I am on my second ford ranger 3.2 from ansa and would go with a third when ready(once it continues to serve as it has). only problem is when you book an appointment for service it usually takes about 2-3 weeks(in P-o-S). just book when you are a 1000kms before due and you should be good. No problems

I second the new Colorado, especially with the vast availability of parts from the US market.

Only complaints from the owner of 2015 model were that the armrest on the driver side started to deteriorate an flake but it was like a 150us diy fix

Edit: he gets 700-750km per tank

If you buying it new then no problem
if you buying it used salt
you cannot find parts not even in the firm , it always out of stock and the prices always a ripoff
i personally would not buy a ford again

What defines Best for a van
Ride quality?
Ground clearance?
Reliability?
After sales parts and service?
Value for money?
Towing capacity?
Engine power?
Safety?
Handling?

2nd gen Colorado... Eats front brake pads for breakfast. Colleague goes through a set approx every 10000kms. His driving style is somewhat to blame but the van has good power. It also asks for dexos rated oil which is only available in semi or full Synthetics.

It's an auto Colorado
Come to think of it... While gearing down can help you... It puts unnecessary stress or wear through the driverline components. Brakes are easier and cheaper to replace than a clutch.

The fully loaded LTZ comes with leather interior, lane departure assist, hill ascent and descent assist.

After having experience with almost all the pickups in the market due to work, I will recommend the L200 Sportero, the 2,5 Hilux and the 3.0 DMax in that order. The Ranger us the most problematic from my experience, from the turbo to the fuel pump to the transmission. The 3.0 Hilux has injector issues and can cause your engine to run lean amd in turn lead to a meltdown basically. Nissan has pump and injector issues among others. I'll recommend the Sportero any day, takes way more abuse than the others

If you're buying from Diamond Motors you will get a common rail vgt 4d56 or the 4n15 if you get it from one of the roro dealers however I recommend the 4d56 as service parts are more readily available

I love the np300.
Comfy ride and power for fays with 6 on the floor.
That new bt50 have some speed though. Ran one last week, was shocked at the speeds it clocked.

The fully loaded LTZ comes in fabric. Lifestyle will provide a local vendor to wrap it in leather for 15k.....
