Being told of an incident involving an American Airlines emergency/ crash landing at piarco

Can anyone confirm???

I was on this flight back home fellaz wasn't no regular turbulence nah no warning loud bang and hard descent.. emergency lighting came on plane was descending hard for a some time everyone thought we was gone.

Those planes can fly themselves, flight controller. Cud be a lightening strike, disabling flight controller and forcing de pilot to take over. Idk but that don't sound like no turbulence.

Microburst?? Planes have encountered them and pilots have learned to deal with it since Delta Flight 191 crash of 1985

Certainly some course deviations. Arrow shows where the event occurred.

The '120' indicates the aircraft was gaining altitude at a rate of 120 feet per minute, but given the transient nature of the event, the actual rate of climb during the short event could have been higher.
