Once a bill is voted against it can’t be returned in the same format for another 6 months. Even an amended version can’t be returned. This is to keep the legislative wheels turning rather than stuck working on the same things

When something doesn’t work out for the PNM? Legislation to attack criminality is not for the PNM or the UNC .... it’s for the country. It can’t be good legislation when KPB pilots it and bad when PNM pilots it WITH amendments to satisfy the opposition.
Its time the country puts partisan politics aside for the benefit of key issues
Crime
Healthcare
Economic diversification
Infrastructure

these issues are not things to be politicized. Policy should continue smoothly regardless of who is in power for these long term items. It’s the citizens allowing this.

A few short years ago the shoe was on the other foot, and the then peenem did the same thing to anti-gang legislation when it was proposed by the Unc, to both parties this is nothing more than a game to " shame and blame" whilst the country suffers at the hands of criminals.
Neither of the 2 major PArties truly care about Trinidad and its future, neither cares about the safety of its people as the politicians themselves have their police escorts and big houses with personal security..... its All about the self glorification, renumeration and illegal kickbacks.

I don't see any victory for anyone concerned. WE are still at the mercy of the criminals, as WE do not have TTPS guarding us night and day like Rowley and Kams. Yet here we are, at each other's throats. Which one of us will write to, or visit our MP to find out why they voted the way they did?

I don't usually have respect for this opposition, but it looks to me like the public's interest was at heart by not supporting this bill.
Did anyone really listen to the reasons they had issues with the proposed bill?
* five year sunset clause
* heavy sedition laws
* police can search your premises without warrant if SUSPECTED of gang activity
* Full Powers of arrest for customs and other security agencies?

With the current corrupt elements in the protective services the above is surely the makings of a police state.
