LF Orthopedic Doctor Recommendations

Postby shaunasr » January 6th, 2018, 8:03 am

Good day, would like to get some recommendations for a good Orthopaedic Doctor to do an ACL Reconstruction and Medial Meniscus repair (sports injury). After searching online came across many doctors but has anyone done the same surgery I’m looking to do or know someone who did and was successful? Thanks tuners!

Sure will do! Met with a Dr Persad in Surgimed, told me $70k. How much did yours cost by Dr Lousaing? Have another appointment by Dr Anil Ali next week to get a second opinion.

I did mine abroad, but that is a typical price.
Lousaing is probably around $100k, he has high maintenance lifestyle

You need to use a doc who has done many of them and not guinea piggin on you
Check Terry Ali

Dr. Anyl Gopeesingh whose office is inside Renew rehab center is pretty good
I took my Mom there last year for pinched nerve issues
Not sure how he is on surgery type stuff like ACL but for other more biomechanical stuff he is good

I had an ACL reconstruction. Surgery posed no problem for me but they are drilling bone so it is painful.

Surgery is expensive and you will need a hospital stay and use crutches afterward. You will very likely require physical therapy after along with a rigid knee brace after that.

Unless you are a competitive athlete or your profession requires you to plant and twist your knee, you are probably better off in the long run with just a knee brace to prevent injury during strenuous activities and forego the surgery entirely.

Many activities pose little to no problem: cycling, golf, swimming, climbing, etc.

Mr. Rupert Indar Jr. (really a doctor, but goes by Mr. because that's a title thing in the UK.)

one of the Directors of Southern Medical Clinic, San Fernando. And he runs the Orthopaedic and Spinal Clinic there as well.

I had an arthroscopy (removal of left ACL, due to it being in pieces after a clash in football) and haematoma removal done by him (a rel big big blood clot to the lower right side of the knee)

Very straightforward in his diagnosis and post arthroscopic care.

Was not able to conduct the full ACL reconstruction one time as that was not the plan, nor did they have the consumables on schedule for it one time. I intend to go do it soon

one VERRRRY important point though:
With private medical care... a main commandment is HEALTH INSURANCE... this will be the difference between paying the equivalent of a RORO axio vs a B14

full recovery 9-12 months full strength
but normalcy after 3-4

first month is hardest but you have to be careful for the first 3 to not bust the healing graft
