^ CBFC offended by 'Hanuman' in Black Panther

In the film, Black Panther's rival M'Baku, who belonged to the Jabari tribe, says "Glory to Hanuman”. Needless to say, that word found itself edited out when the film was released in India, no doubt to make sure Hindu sensibilities were not offended.

Ammmm No....people of wakanda all belong to different "cults" and have their different deities. There's the panther cult, white gorilla cult, crocodile cult and the lion cult etc. In the comics, the M'baku is known as the "Man-Ape" having gotten his powers by killing and consuming he flesh of a sacred white gorilla and bathing in gorilla blood. They changed that because of the racial connotations involved in associating black people with Apes. Hence he was just called M'Baku in the movies and the quick reference to a Hindu monkey deity. Last I heard, that reference was edited out when showed in India.

ryan reynolds did a deadpool test print which is usually shown to the executives to decide if to greenlight or red light a movie....that test print was leaked onto the internet......and welll.....fans saw it & were begging for a movie....and well we got one.....and like rovin said....cash cow....

Deadpool wasn't MCU when it was made so maybe that's why. Disney owns Marvel but Xmen previously belonged to Fox who also owned Fantastic Four. Disney has agreed to buy Fox's marvel characters. Sony owns Spiderman btw.
