Car Insurance

Postby *$kїđž!™ » March 4th, 2018, 6:44 am

So getting ready to renew but insurance conpanies saying that third party went up to $1350....
I remember when third party was like $600 - $700......

$1350 as a base is ridiculous...

Any suggestions as to where i could get a cheaper policy?

Yes Capital or Motor One but stay away from my car.. Those companies give trouble for payment if a claim is filed

All the well known insurance companies were quoting me a similar figure, Guardian had the cheapest rate @ $1292 or thereabouts. Went with Sagicor @ $1422

Hey guys I'm hoping to own my first vehicle this year and was considering insurance company options. I expect to afford a second hand car or a 'foreign used' but can o get some recommendations? I know I've heard alot about colfire touted as more oriented for lady drivers (are safer drivers) but does anyone know the rates offhand? Folks at work tell me stay away from motorOne like the plague.

Oh okay I never research it but I just looked it up,thanks. Does it make sense to do fully comprehensive insurance on a used vehicle? Or a foreign used?

Might get fully comp on a roro. If its your first ride and you a young driver, lube up your butt hole.
If its a used vehicle and you trying to get fully comp, lube it and stretch it in advance.

Colfire rates are good for roro, they have discounts and they settle quickly.

Beacon is easily one of the best. Had it on all my owned vehicles. Have Tatil on the Ford.

I have two third party policies with bankers insurance, came in at 1650 each with roadside assistance. Used it once Last month, it's really a life saver.

I have no idea about how speedily they settle claims though, neither I nor the other people I know who are with bankers have ever needed to make a claim

Could be small money they have to shell out to fix you up.
If it was a big claim and they realize they bussing they would take longer by trying all avenues possible to avoid the loss.

Motor one's rates surprisingly higher than Colfire's
Was quoted a flat $1650 for a sedan and $2250 for a 2 door, both third party.

Went with Colfire third party on an ek3 (first car ownership) for $1450 and ended up at $1060 after 3 years with the no claim discounts. Roadside assistance was an additional $150 per year.
