Infamous automobile dealer, Sheron Sukhdeo was shot and killed on Monday night.

According to reports, around 8.30pm, Sukhdeo was at the home of extended family on Mahabir Street off Caroni Savannah Road, when he was approached by a lone gunman who fired several shots in his direction.

His family was near at the time of his shooting.

Sukhdeo, who police believe sustained 3-5 gunshot wounds, was taken to the Chaguanas District Health Facility but he died while being treated.

Sukhdeo previously made news after his wife, Rachel, reported to police that she was severely beaten by Sheron. She also uploaded pictures and videos to social media showing the damage she had allegedly suffered at the hands of her husband, but the charges were later dropped after she refused to appear in court.

Senior Superintendent Balram and ASP Smith of the Chaguanas Police Station are continuing inquiries.

Military funeral for the late Sheron Sukhdeo to be held at 11am on 31/03/2018 at Chaguanas Police Station compound. Following internment at the southern side of the compound of Chaguanas Police Station. CID and task force officers are allowed a private ceremony and a 1 minute silence in acknowledgement of the passing of their boss. Officers are to be dressed in ceremonial kit (white tunic). A ceremony will be held at the house of mourning located at Caroni Savannah road, Chaguanas and 6 of the most corrupted officers will tote his body from the house of mourning to the ceremonial grounds before internment. Chaguanas C.I.D., Major Crime Unit and Central Division Task Force officers are kindly ask to accept this information.

At the end of the day what has happened to this young-man and so many others has to do with what many in our society condone.
