In Indo-trini politics, if you get fedup of the leader you run off and create a new party fracturing the parent party which never truly dies. Once the leader changes, the breakaways go back to the parent party and get reabsorbed. They die a natural death during the re-absorption process, when they try to break off again or by the electorate.

This is going to be 2007 all over again.

When people were fedup with Panday, COP was born led by Dookeran and that split the vote in 2007 elections. Once Panday left many went back "home". COP was unofficially reabsorbed into the UNC during the partnership years to the point they were indistinguishable except the party colors yellow and white. They trying to separate after the 2015 defeat but that party is dead.

It is going to be hard for a UNC spinoff to gain the Afro-vote unless the leader is THAT charismatic and Growley ultimately facks up. Jack Warner was that guy but his FIFA sins caught up with him. That unwavering PNM loyalty is still there even though more and more afro-trinis are questioning it.

as for 3rd party : not all of them sole purpose is to spite d unc , some really try to make a difference but ppl just outright reject them , they like their new concepts but only studying if they go split this side votes & d next side go win & then allawe @ss go hadda eat grass mentality

we as a ppl claim we want change but we ourselves doh wanna change , we 1 foot in we ole party & 1 foot in a new 1 saying yea to something new but when election day reach we gone back to voting back d setta ppl & expecting change ........ doing d same sh1t but expecting a different result ...

I think the people of this country should wake up and realize that both UNC and PNM are not doing justice for the development of the country and its people. In saying that, WE all should founder a third party that is truly geared towards our wholistic development. Imagine 2018, and we have poor roads, poor management, and lack of opportunities throughout in the country, despite whomsoever of the two is elected. For a small country such as this, meaning comparing population with resources we all INDIVIDUALLY should be well off and not begging for opportunities.

For a small country the amount of money that passed through our coffers we should not be lacking in anything period. Can't even begin to mention how many times foreigners have commented on this but the one thing they have the most difficulty comprehending is the state of the roads.

If they like politics and Kams don't want to let them in the party that Bas built and their principles are opposed to the principles of the PNM (or so they would like us to believe)..... they free to start their own party IMHO.

In the grand scheme of things Panday wasn't that corrupted, if anything his corruption was the most efficient form of corruption when compared to every other PM this country has ever had meaning we got value for our dollar under his corruption as opposed to Manning and Kamla.
