PayPal & US Bank Accounts

Hi All.

Many people have been having problems using PayPal in T&T.

Here's some suggestions:

OPTION ONE

1. Get a Visa Travel Money Debit Card from Republic Bank. (Cost is about $10 US).
Other Financial Institutions also have Debit Cards. Either Visa or MasterCard.

2. If you have a "Sky Box" (like WebSource), use your WebSource US Address in PayPal.

OPTION TWO

1. Get a FREE US Bank Account (which includes a Visa Debit Card) from: payoneer.com

2. Get a FREE US "Sky Box" (cheaper than WebSource) here: gooping dot com

have a few questions

can it be set up to accept US payments form people on ebay?

is it a actual US bank account that you can use to send and receive wire transfers in US currency?

what are the fees like?

^^ Paypal is available in TT. Sign up with an RBC or Scotia account. You can make or receive payments worldwide.

with the TT paypal accounts you will have USD in your account to be able to transfer/ use?

and its available immediately unlike when it took 30 days to access in the past?

^^ Take a look at the PP website, all of this is covered. If you get a merchant account, your funds are restricted in case of a claim. If you receive funds for goods and services on a personal account, your funds are restricted in case of a claim. It won't matter if it is a US account or not, iirc.

Even payments to a merchant Visa/Mastercard account (no PP involved) are restricted and take time to clear.
