Twelve Automated Border Control System kiosks were launched at the Piarco International Airport on Monday by National Security Minister Edmund Dillon and Works and Transport Minister Rohan Sinanan.
Delivering the feature address at the launch, Minister Dillon noted that this connected system will strengthen T&T’s border with the larger and related goal of mitigating the risks of transnational organised crime through increased trans-border intelligence and information sharing.
The implementation of the Automated Border Control System is aimed at strengthening border security and reducing passenger wait-time leading to an enhanced customer experience.
“Today's momentous launch of the Automated Border Control System will strengthen this country's border security and facilitate an enhanced customer experience to the travelling public,” the National Security Minister said.
