#1 Jaws #2 Deep Blue Sea #3 The Shallows #4 Mega Shark vs Giant Octopus (only because it kicked off the madness that is Sharknado, Sharktopus and now The Meg)
Jaws is a classic and Quint makes the movie what it is amongst the other interesting protagonists. More so when you consider who he's based on, an actual great white hunter, Frank Mundus.
I also think one particular film in this genre with a unique and tragic plot is the forgotten 1977 Orca of which morricone composed one of the most haunting scores ever.
Jaws hands down. Quint, Hooper, Brody with all their human flaws were awesome characters. In Peter Benchley's novel, Hooper even guts out Brody's wife, then dies later.
