Best adhesive remover for vinyl graphics

Postby jackal » August 18th, 2018, 7:24 am

What is the best adhesive remover for vinyl graphics?

Tried alcohol, nail polish remover, brake fluid and buffing it out only taking off too much paint.

Hot water, did a panel van that was wrapped and the only thing that removed it easily was hot water. Electric kettle and you good to go.

Graphics

Taking out the graphic from the side of the van.

That graphic is as old as the van is approximately 15 yrs.

It faded out and needs to be changed.

I used a heat gun to remove the tape but the adhesive remained. Most of the ones on the stripe graphic came out with the buffing machine and compound, the one with the 4X4 sticker real stubborn. Used WD 40, nail polish remover etc, nothing works.

Yesterday i bought an adhesive remover at the hardware, just under 200$ a bottle, did a test yesterday on it. Most came out. Will continue with it next weekend.

Now I need someone to do over the graphic after I finish color sand and buff the vehicle.

Then is time to lift and put on some 33's.

I normally use a blow dryer or heat up to soften the glue and just peel it off

Sure right about OEM graphics.

And I did use a heat gun.
