New Classic Rock station

Postby Nexus » August 19th, 2018, 6:59 pm

Ay tuners,
Seems somebody was listening after the rebranding of 95.
103.5 is now called Platinum Hits, been running some good classic stuff, not exclusively still some modern pop here and there.
But I've heard stuff like thin Lizzy, gnr, Metallica, rush and triumph. Haven't heard an announcer or much ads really, not sure how long they will last

had a listen today - good stuff!
a little too much modern music that I can hear on lots of other stations, but did get Lightning Crashes by Live. Anything from that Throwing Copper album was good and don't really get that on the radio locally.

Radio reception isnt that good though. When they first started was only older music but now it seems a bit too much new music.

last night when i listened was mostly rock , rock n roll & alternative but today from around 2pm-6pm was a mix of oldies & nowadays songs , a fairly decent mix

to me d quality needs a bit of eq-ing , sounds a bit flat compared to other stations

station format is like how 95.1 was in d late 90s early 2000s

only ads i heard so far today is suarez circus , no other ...

Came across it about a month ago, thought heartbeat claim back their frequency until i didn't hear their name or ads at all.

Format needs some tweaking but so far so good.

Listened to them on the way from work yesterday. Really only heard an ad for Suarez Brothers Circus and just music the rest of the time.

Some dude named Tim Hosein is linked to the station, not sure if he’s the owner.

Added this to my presets.

Finally some decent music on radio again (apart from Mike Ross on 95.1 on Wednesday evening/night).

Heard them play Black by Pearl Jam, and Miles Away by Winger.

Also some other obscure hits you don't usually hear on radio, even when 95.1 used to play good music.

Still some more modern music in between, but the tradeoff more than worth it.

I've only listened it to and from work thus far, and as others mentioned, I haven't heard any announcer or ads yet, except for the occasional station ID.

Thanks for the heads up!

I treat the modern crap stuff in between like commercials...about one for every 4 decent songs

Good combo this morning. Had it on as I dropped the wife to work then turned around and headed to my office. No temptation to switch to USB til they played some modern pop breakup nonsense. Then it was time for Deicide on the USB.

their mix ok so far with some stuff u dont hear often

but like i said above [& i know they not officially launched as yet] their sound quality is not good , sounds a bit flat & lower freqs sound a bit too much boosted\distorted

their signal strength need to be increased too since i was in sando yesterday & it was very low to dropping ...
