Suddenly persons are realizing having a track named after you is not the same as having a track?

why not have a " NO RACE NO VOTE campaign ????

carry it all the way up to election.... lets see what happens then ...??

racing fraternity is likely even smaller than the hunting fraternity, so a drop in the bucket.
i.e Not voting may not impact the election outcome.

Even after petrotrin, PNM will still likely win the next election

well its worth a try bruh.

another idea is to have all the bigger racers those with the big $$$$ to come out and possibly donate a cool 100K each to the purchasing ( of land) and building a facility... that way we dont need govt.

the benefit of the donors would be their own individual area free for life.
the smaller racers can also donate what they can their benefit would be things like free runs on weekends (when theres no races scheduled) etc etc

the owners of the dyno can also donate that way they can have a section built for a dyno that can be operated by then in order to generate revenue.

think of this... come a week before drags.. pay and get a dyno run and 2 runs on the tarmac. << investment opportunity here.

everyday drivers should be able to pull up to the location ..... have their cars certified to be able to race - proper safety check of course and pay $100 per run.... ( ole talk go diminish on tuner thou wen men get call out   )

i'm no accountant but no one can do this alone. TTASA has tried raising cash and has done a remarkable job thus far with safety and such but this leasing thing.... just not working out....

eTeck meet today on Wallerfield future

In a prompt response to concerns raised by the T&T Automobile Sports Association (TTASA) about its 3,000 racers which no longer have access to the Frankie Boodram Wallerfield International Raceway (FBWIR), the Minister of Trade and Industry Paul Gopee-Scoon meet with the executive of the Evolving Tecknologies and Enterprise Development Company Limited (eTecK), yesterday.

This was at the company’s building, Tamana InTech Park, where the Minister was provided with an overview of the TTASA site by eTecK executives including its president Daniel Duncan, director Arnold De Four, Ian Fletcher, vice-president, Real Estate Assets - eTecK, Steve De Las, manager, Capital Projects – eTecK and Judy Ramjohn, eTecK director.

Yesterday, Minister Gopee-Scoon with eTeck officials visited TTASA’s facility and had discussions, which resulted in them calling a meeting today with representatives of eTecK, the Environmental Management Authority (EMA), Alutech, the Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs and the Minister of Trade and Industry to discuss matters surrounding the request for a licence agreement between TTASA and e TecK.

A release from eTeck yesterday said: "The concern is that the construction of Alutech’s facility involved in the manufacturing and assembly of alloy rims from imported aluminium is scheduled to commence on October 1, 2018.

"There are safety and security concerns for the employees involved in the construction as well as spectators at TTASA events and these matters will be discussed at today's meeting. Other compliance issues will also be addressed.

"eTecK is committed to working towards an amicable solution. A meeting with TTASA officials is expected to be held soonest."

On Friday, Jameer Ali, vice-president of TTASA, the national governing body for motorsports in T&T, confirmed that his association was informed by eTecK that its six-month license to use the Wallerfield premises expired on August 20 and that it will not be renewed.

He said that the TTASA reached out to both ministries hoping for a quick resolution so that its 3,000 membership can get back on track and race.

no eh, that's a VERY different thing you said there with the words you used there to say the thing there that you just said there with the words you just used there to say the thing you just said there

and if so, " can get back on track and race", surely the supporters who make up up the non-members are not all going to go back on the track to race...

Well the newspaper article also said the Minister’s name is Paul when it’s really Paula and also stated that the President of eTeck is Daniel Duncan when it’s really Steve De Las. So maybe it’s 30 financial members and not 3000.

I believe the Ministry will schedule a meeting with TTASA this week. Then we may know the outcome.

they should be happy! because the Minister of Trade, the President, VP and Manager of eTeck came out on a Sunday at a meeting and site visit to address the issue to be followed up by another meeting on Monday and another with TTASA during this week. All that after multiple meetings with Ministry of Sport and correspondence back and forth with TTASA and stakeholders.

I heard from a friend of mine that the easiest way to get things done is to burn tyres on the Beetham. Burning tyres is not a new concept to racers....
