Nishal Sankat has been charged with grand theft, burglary and trespassing for his failed attempt to steal an American Airlines jet from the Orlando Melbourne International Airport. According to FBI Special Agent David Hacker, he flight student was trying to harm himself at the time of the attempted theft. Sankat appeared before Judge Rhonda Babb Friday afternoon and is being held with no bond.
In 1979, she graduated from Wellesley College with Bachelor of Arts degrees in Spanish Literature and African American Studies. She earned her law degree from the Brooklyn School of Law in 1984. Judge Babb was appointed to the county court bench by former Florida Governor Jeb Bush in 2002, and she was elected unanimously by Brevard's County Court Judges to serve as administrative judge in 2004 (Eighteenth Judicial Circuit Courts). Currently, Judge Babb is a member of the Brevard County Association for Women Lawyers, Florida Bar Association, and National Bar Association. As a Trinidadian woman, she is also a member of the Caribbean Association of Women Judges.
A judge assigned him no bail after the State Attorney's Office argued that he was a flight risk. That's because he receives $5,000 each month from his parents and he has citizenship in Canada, attorneys said.

I guess money isn't everything...

"NISHAL Sankat, the Trinidadian aviation student who attempted to steal an American Airlines airbus on Thursday in Florida, has been battling depression for some time.
So said Education Minister Anthony Garcia yesterday as he expressed the need for the country’s population to stop stigmatising those with mental health challenges and instead begin to understand the devastating effects such illnesses can have on a person."
I wonder if Garcia would have run his mouth if this guy was just another "ordinary" student, far less if he was a "Muslim" student.
If his last name was not Sankat, Garcia would not have said a word.
However, Depression is not something to take lightly. I know many, many young people who are battling this disease. It is really not easy especially when they end up killing themselves.
