The Scar­let Ibis has been des­ig­nat­ed an En­vi­ron­men­tal­ly Sen­si­tive Species (ESS). That des­ig­na­tion of­fers ad­di­tion­al pro­tec­tion with puni­tive mea­sures, specif­i­cal­ly in ac­cor­dance with sec­tion 70 (2) of the En­vi­ron­men­tal Man­age­ment Act, Chap­ter 35:05, which states ‘any per­son who know­ing­ly or reck­less­ly en­dan­gers or ad­verse­ly im­pacts the species will be li­able to a fine of $100,000 and im­pris­on­ment for two years.

the selling price of 2 birds paying the current fine. & that is exactly why ppl still hunt them, the fine is so low is a joke.
and this is not a new thing, it's what happens when ppl come from anywhere and everywhere, many with their bad habits, and realize how slack we are wrt enforcement of our laws so they have no hesitation to do whatever they want. I've seen foreigners "hunting" here, showing off iguanas no bigger than a zandolee as their prize catch, and saying openly that they will always target the young and juvenile animals, these types are not giving a damn about the long term effects of their behavior.

but Chinese nationals and local criminals antics aside, if allyuh only know which the most powerful section of this country places a premium on certain protected animals allyuh go realize what goes on in dis place.

the speaker called for a vote....there was no response to the objection of the bill....IIRC it was asked TWICE.....and the 2nd time....again silence so the speaker had no other option but to move fwd.

is only when the mark buss on the papers then they were hurry to repeal it. TV6 also showed the clip when it was called to vote and the opposition was asleep.... lol.

the only time ive EVER seen govt and opposition work together quickly is when the salaries review commission comes into play....
