Generally i think my mileage remaining the same. About 10-11km/L in the city and 13.5km/L if i running highway. If i make more than 1 highway run in a day it goes more towards 14.5-15km/l.

Its a mind ting....

The gas more expensive so ppl find themselves staring at the level indication so it will appear to decrease faster than normal.

we all know NP had tankers of faster-burning fuel on standby as soon as the budget bomb drop
They knew weeks in advance so they carefully timed their stocks so that each station got its last delivery of long-burn fuel just days before the budget, and that's how they basically used up all the old stock just in time for the overnight transition to fast-burn fuel. Gotta admire the level of logistical planning that went into the entire operation, from supply chain management to stock management to dispatch accuracy!

Makes sense,

lets hope the imported fuel is slow burning though.

That's positive.

Subsidies generally tend to encourage inefficient behaviours.

Next set of subsidies they need to reduce is water and electricity. See in NGC latest newsletter they saying the true price of electricity is US$0.11/$0.12 per kilowatt hour (kwh) if you remove the subsidies.

my car tells me I'm currently averaging 50.5 mpg
That's a mix of highway and traffic
It's diesel tho, not petrol
The petrol car has always consistently given 35-37 mpg mixed driving...but that takes premium...dunno about your super sufferers :p

When I used to fill at unipet stations my car used to hard start and run lazy so I now stick strictly to NP stations...

For this year I average 12.63 litres to 100Kms.
Pretty poor mileage but its predominantly "City" traffic both mornings and evenings. And as simple as parking - frigging 26 humps one way to decelerate and then accelerate. It all adds up over the course of a month and then year.

And strange enough in two totally different kinds of vehicles, unipet always returns the better mileage for me.

The strange thing is that it remains exactly the same fuel.
And will remain the same until they remove the LAW re the subsidy

Which mandates that the fuel sold is not to be altered-and its source mandated as Petrotrin/NP/Unipet

Don't know why more companies haven't jumped to bring the diesel versions of their small vehicles. Maybe if we start importing ulsd that would change.

One challenge to bringing ULSD is that at the pump/retail station we only have a single line of diesel supply.
Supplying one grade.
To supply 2 you would have to have distinct and separate storage, metering and delivery for each grade
So to have regular diesel and ULSD sold at stations is real pressure.
ULSD would have to be the only Diesel OR regular Diesel.

To add a second type of diesel at the retail end- tanks and pumps would have to be added- thats a big ask... especially if we deregulating and Unipet and NP facing probable competition from multinationals
