Woman got kidnapped from UWI just now

From what I've heard staff member was allegedly abducted near the guard booth at North Gate, UWI St. Augustine Campus.
A gun shot was heard and another staff member tried to stop the abduction.

North gate is currently closed off and Police are investigating.

Kidnapping reported on The UWI's campus

There has been an apparent kidnapping on the grounds of The UWI's campus in St Augustine.

The victim has been identified as Maria Dass-Supersad, who lived at Lange Park, Chaguanas.

Dass-Supersad is the Commercialization Manager at the Office of Institutional Advancement and Internationalization at The UWI.

The woman was getting into her vehicle when she was snatched this afternoon, and bundled into a Nissan Tiida.

The UWI issued a statement at 3.45p.m. stating that the North Gate has been closed and that access was available at the other gates.

No mention was made of the alleged abduction.

However, the division's senior superintendent has confirmed the report.

Initial reports are that two men, one dressed in police uniform and one is army uniform were involved in the snatch.

The number plate on the vehicle was bogus.

The search is underway.

hearing she was rescued by TTPS at a house in Caura. Seems there was a shoot out and one man was shot and killed and two others arrested.

Commissioner of Police Gary Griffith is confirming tonight that Maria Dass, the UWI staff member snatched from the university's campus in an abduction that shocked the nation on Wednesday afternoon, has been found alive.

The vehicle that took Dass from St Augustine was intercepted by police in Caura.

Two men have been arrested.

Dass was taken for medical treatment.
