the japanese cars was supposed to be the budget alternatives to the european supercars, but this is just a rebadged bmw. how much performance mods u could do that engine, before its maxed out? the good thing about the jz was that it was good as is, and could handle a great amount power upgrades.
this, if it not that variable, it would just be buy an drive and remember the specs u saw on the showroom fliers.

lets see how modifiable it is. ..

then again, that is not an option for me to buy, so i should mind my business, mind my funky business

Looks good, initial driving reviews are also good. Seeing the influence from the A80, car is shorter than the FT86 which is interesting, seeing TTTL posting it on their site dunno if that's indicative of it coming to our shores via the dealership or not. I like it, I'm sure the aftermarket industry won't be far behind in tuning and accessory support

Badge engineering aside, it looks great and has potential.
Hopefully the aftermarket provides a front bumper to replace that hideous stock one.

Too many weird bumps and curves. They should have taken a page from Honda's book wrt the NSX, and kept it more retro.

So will it random catch fire since is basically a bmw?
Im not sure if this new supra can compete with Godzilla(Skylines) in its current form.
Hoping that the Japanese Tuners can save the new Supra.

It's a U$50000 car, not meant to compete with godzilla, NSX

^^^^
They should have rebadged it under a new name then instead of devaluing the brand and market it like the toyota/subaru collab..ft86/brz.

Reminds me of Nissan Skyline V35/CV35 madness.

this design is an abomination that should not exist, it looking like it got squashed lengthways, and the bloated ducktail-spoiler-whatever in the back is a fail.

why companies taking classic designs and ruining it with a whole bunch of uneccessary and ugly styling

now siddong watching Doug's review
The Engineering Explained dude did a good review too
My only quibbles with this car are the fake vents and cut-and-paste BMW interior (not like I could even afford one)

Toyota should have re-partnered with allies Subaru and Mazda for a new iconic Japanese sports car and not BMW. Toyota would have gotten an in-line 6 turbo, the Subaru with its trademark boxer and the Mazda with either a twin or tri-motor wankel rotary turbo. All with available awd. The Nissan 370z would have been put to rest and I reckon this threesome would have had the guts to tackle stuff like GTR's and Cayman's etc. I just don't get the true sense that the spirit of the Supra lives on in this thing..

yeah I know
It's common knowledge that 'they can be removed for track use blah blah blah) but no matter the excuse, fake vents on a car is very gimmicky
