Well since it has a bmw straight 6 engine... to me that is not a supra....they could have used a new lexus engine...

Nice. Saw Doug's review and a few others earlier. Didn't see this though.

It's a nice car, it really is...that said I'm on the disappointed side. I really thought the Supra moniker was supposed to represent the best of Toyota - a JAPANESE company...and in that regard, when they came out with it that it would be something to rival Nissan's Godzilla. Instead, I tend to agree with some here, that its really an updated Z4. Most of the tech already exists, the airflow and suspension dynamics etc...they have just put a lot of it into one car, which is a good thing - it just isn't ground-breaking in any way at all.

the supra was never really that though....and check back the history and you'll see a ,lot of Lotus engineering input in the Supra / Celica lineage

There was signficant development input from Yamaha in that lineage of which you speak. At least in the engine anyway, which is my main focus. The celica line received a lot of euro input because of TTE and its rally lineage. Not sure about the Supra.

It seems that the Supra may have more horsepower than is actually being advertised.

Saw a video from the guy at Apex nurburgring taxi where he discusses the current handling problems due to the rear suspension on these cars.

Imagine Toyota made a sports car with BMW Engineering and the whole world sh!t on them for that.

Almost as if when people buy a Toyota they are expecting it to be made by Toyota.

It is no secret Toyota Engineering > Everybody Else.

With some tasteful mods I don't mind

I think most hate for this car is the essence legend of the previous supras lost and well bmw input to the vehicle... But on its own it a decent ride
