Propane truck ignites in Rose Hall Montego Bay

The driver of the gas tank truck that caught fire along a section of the North Coast Highway in St James is undergoing medical treatment.



The police say the driver is seriously injured.

They say a police team that was quick on the scene assisted him to hospital.

They say the area remains cordoned off and motorists heading to Montego Bay have been diverted to the Salt Marsh main road, then onto Adelphi and then to West Gates.

It is reported that the tanker caught fire about 7:00 a.m. while travelling along the roadway.
