Drove through what was some blinding rain in San Fernando and Pointe a Pierre today. Wipers on full speed and it was barely visible, 50-60 kmph max on the highway.

As per usual uneducated drivers were driving with their hazard lights on. In harsh weather conditions please turn on your headlights and your tail lights would be illuminated enough to be visible

Another day to test the skills and wipers of SHH drivers. Massive deluge in the Point Lisas, Claxton bay areas. Some images and videos show the grassy median filled to capacity.

Flash flooding in places like that is very sudden and intense. Most times there is nothing anyone could have done to avoid it. Water in a massive torrent at great speed can just appear within a second at a mountain waterfall or river valley bend with no warning as the rainfall source can be further away than could have been observed or expected.

Example: Image

Sad news. RIP.

I found a perfect video of a waterfall flash food. Thunderstorm happened miles away up in the mountains. It is insane and scary. No warning at all, it's just a normal waterfall and then a torrent. 4 minutes later and it looks like the world exploded with water.

high tide is 4pm so unlikely any downtown flooding until that time
but we have new pumps by the lighthouse to alleviate any flooding by city gate
however lately by wrightson road powergen is a regular flooding area now

^^ All the big drains by South Quay normal and Dry River is well dry. This was around 8.45am.

Doesn't seem there was sufficient rain in PoS for flooding.

Well the weather today must lead to an uneasy nite for some folks and the indications are that this will linger for awhile.
