“Under the Agriculture Fires Act, Section 18, it is permissible to have an outdoor fire for the purpose of cooking, without first having to get a fire permit. So as people ordinarily do, go by the river and make a cook – that is fine. You don’t have to first get a fire permit. What the law requires you if you’re doing that is to ensure that wherever you [are] having that fire, there is no material around that will ignite and that could start a bush fire. And further, the law requires you when you’re finished cooking to out the fire.”
