CAL not using the Max 8 now
Not long before their plane was set to take off, a group heading to Miami had to disembark their Boeing 737 MAX 8 after a decision was made to temporarily ground all aircrafts of that model. It's the situation many passengers may have fielded on Wednesday, with more questions looming than answers. Nneka Parsanlal explains.

CAL lucky yes, they would have been in an even more difficult position had they already replaced their twelve 737-800s with the new planes because all would be grounded leaving the airline with just their 5 ATRs in the short term.
Eventually they probably would have entered into some lease arrangements to continue operations...but at what cost?...

Almost all carriers have grounded their Max-8 aircraft, but CAL keeps saying they are safe.
