Tobago via Plane but Car on Boat?

Postby christopherwilliams2 » April 12th, 2019, 7:11 am

I know that usually, you take the boat to go to Tobago if you want to carry your own car and not rent a car.

Anyone knows of a method to take the plane but have your car sent across on the boat? Do people do this..if so, how?

Looking for some assistance.

Someone has to be sent on the boat because nobody is going to drive your car and park it up when it arrives for you.

There are people that offer that service (to drive it off for you). Can't remember who, but there was a thread with it here some time ago

The company i work for usually does this. Sent a truck today actually. The driver puts it on the boat when it's time locks it up then goes to the airport, fly across with plenty time to collect said vehicle when the boat reaches Tobago. The catch is the tickets both plane and boat has to be the same day around the same time to collect the vehicle. Dunno what will happen if you not there to remove your car when the boat gets to Tobago though.

You sure they dont leave a key in the vehicle? For.staff.to take it off and park it on the port in case the driver doesnt make it to pick it up?

I've done this earlier this year, wasn't on the same day tho. I left the key in the ignition and a friend took it off and kept it in Tobago until I arrived the next week. Then when I came back to Trini, he put it back on the boat, left the key with the crew and I took it off.

Cabo Star btw. Process was simple. I could imagine it being smooth if you threw it on the boat, took a flight across and then took it off when it arrives.
