Yep that's PNM past history and I always knew about it. It's nothing new most folks won't know of it and it is deleted out of history books. History is what is presented to use remember.

There is much more as there was the Gas Station racket ,Trinidad Rail, Prevat, Jonny O and alot more

Its just old history and nothing has changed from PNM , it continues to day.

We live in an Ingorant country where folk don't question the pass to secure the future

All his research is on his website. It's a lot.

There was a Catholic Church that was destroyed to make way for the dam. It is said that the Catholic priest was so livid that he placed a curse on the project and the dam was never built.

Caura is an adaptation of the Arawak word, Cuara. It's actually a sad story. This was once a settlement for Arawaks, until the authorities bought the lands and had the population moved, and all the buildings in the village demolished. By 1946 the village was gone, all to build a dam which was supposed to supply the entire North Trinidad with water. However, a year into the project it was abandoned amidst escalating cost, and much scandal.

That 686K in pounds was a tremendous amount of money in those days.

Good info!

Btw, I did the maths below. £668k (not TTD) really is a good piece of change.

PNM learned it was easy to scam and theef as no one was held accountable after the Brits left. There was no watch dogs or free media like today.

PNM scams still continue and cover ups just like Petrotrin, arse wari milking the goverment in rents. One fat arse two plate clown say it's valve for money.

Some people happy for the scams cause they live off from it and support it. These are the task masters.

Other issue is the 1% owned media houses programme what you read and what is meant to be true so you will believe it.

Very stupid and gullible are trinis.
