well honestly here isnt any better. statistically you have a higher chance of being killed here. Not to mention being assaulted, robbed, car jacked, family terrorized, raped, kidnapped for ransom etc.

for the year, all us mass shooting fatalities are about the same of t&ts murder rate.

to put it in perspective, out of a population of 300,000,000 mass shootings have claimed about 330lives for the year, while in t&t a population of 1,400,000 the murder count has claimed the same.

And the US law enforcement officers act quickly and effectively or are held accountable e.g. what is going on with the officer who did not do what is expected of him in the MSD mass shooting. As Redman stated earlier, inaction is a choice and if it can be reasonably expected that your particular situation makes you responsible for taking a particular action and you do not..... you are culpable! The US, and other first world countries, have systems that promote continuous improvement and make their best effort to keep persons informed about what they are actively doing to combat a particular situation..... not like our Minister of National Security who will speak to the media and say that he know for a fact that the TTPS is working 24 hours to deal with the crime..... saying something while telling us nothing that we didn't already know....smh!

So wait nah, the normal murder rate in Trinidad is equal to the mass shooting murder rate in the US?

So we literally are hundreds of times safer in Trinidad? Yet we complain?!

Steups, ppl to damn spoil here.

The difference is these are innocent people being shot in concerts, garlic festivals, Walmart etc.

In Trinidad the murders are mostly concentrated within a few hot spot areas so it can be avoided by the law abiding citizen.

This is what I tell anyone who wants to migrate due to crime.

Crime on innocent people in the US is far far far higher than innocent people being robbed/raped/murdered in Trinidad.

People crime away is everywhere, stop making out problem to be worse than it is.

Stop trying to paint everywhere with the same brush. Canada has 1.6 murders per 100,000 while South Africa has 30.1.

Murder rates/hot spots aren't the only reason people migrate.

Car jackings, car theft, home break ins, home invasions, muggings, armed robberies affect the majority of citizens. In the US you can live in a quiet suburb and be way safer there than in Trinidad.

compare the rate of innocents being killed in schools of all levels ,concerts, movies, malls, restaurants, workplaces, parks, festivals, town centres etc..

Compare that per capita rate and then let's start discussions on which country is safer for innocent random people..

In T&T crime is easy to navigate, try navigating a mass random shooting at a movie premiere or concert or your kid's school by one of their peers.

How come nobody ain't gunning down Spann in Sanjuan and another man here in Laventille?

They literally in the middle of drug blocks and have to step around dead bodies from time to time..

Btw this is a non-starter anyway, the US is ranked less safe than even Jamaica and it's obvious why,a million ways for innocent people to get killed, choose one..

There are parts of the USA with higher murder rates than T&T for the same reasons as T&T,add the prospect of mass random shootings, robbery shootings and serial killers etc who may like curly black hair or straight black hair on the day..

He ,she or shim may even like to kill geriatrics or infants, even dogs and cats...

T&T is no where as sick as the USA and other places, our problems are superficial and with the Amount of guns and crying and bawling here I am yet to see a man randomely slaughter masses of people even in the pursuit of his own dark agenda...

They even spare sandman kids, they kill who they have to and step over the rest.

The T&T we are seeing today is a reflection of all levels of society,in T&T we will go the distance to exterminate you but still in T&T we keep it personal..and that's still a great platform to work with..and in many cases a simple 'sorry dey' or 'is ah cool scene' woulda stop the bloodshed..I Know!

The Las Vegas gunman was very well off and productive yet he massacred scores of innocents at a country music festival..how do you navigate that? or even begin to detect such a threat before hand ?

I am sure I can go to any ruffneck gangster concert here or anywhere in the Caribbean and make it home alive and I am sure I will see many friendly but deadly faces..lol.

Jamaica for all the crime there is actually much easier to stay clear of the suspect areas
Here it's much harder to avoid geographically

21 shootings in Chicago over the weekend, but MSM likely won't talk much about that except the small local media

https://www.kktv.com/content/news/21-shootings-in-Chicago-over-the-weekend-kill-3-injure-35-518554551.html

CHICAGO (KKTV) - At least 37 people were injured in 21 shootings across Chicago over the weekend, police announced Sunday.

CBS Chicago is reporting that two of the shootings had several victims and are being called mass shootings.

Seven people were shot in a drive-by at a park just before 1:30 a.m. At last report, one remained in critical condition.

Two hours later, there was a second drive-by at a block party, which injured three and killed one. The father of the deceased told CBS Chicago his son went to the party after getting off work and was standing outside with friends when someone in a car opened fire.

Two other people were killed in unrelated shootings over the weekend.

The weekend total includes four shootings Friday, 12 shootings Saturday, and five shootings as of 9 a.m. CST Sunday, CBS Chicago reports.

Most of the entire world except for war zones is more dangerous than Trinidad. Once you stay clear of trouble, you're far far safer here than in Toronto, London, I not even considering the big cities in the US because you are so unsafe there. Random gunmen, police brutality etc.

Think about if mathematically you punny donkey brain people.

If the number of terrorist and mass shooting deaths in the US is more than the murder rate here, how the ass can you ever feel safer in the US!!?!? Think about it by the numbers.

It's not rocket science. You are me likely to be killed as an innocent person 100-300 times more in America. I not even going to consider Europe out London where it's probably even worst given the number of terrorist attacks there.

u have your math backwards dey FordeG, let's say it's 300 ppl dead from mass shootings for the year, that's still only 300/300,000,000 ppl. or 1 in a million chance of being killed (from mass shootings) vs 300/1,400,000 ppl in T&T (1 in 4000 chance approx.).

US still safer overall, just avoid the hotspots like Chicago & Baltimore

Forget per population, that is not relevant. That is how you lie with statistics.

Let me explain, sharks kill 5 people a year on average. So statistically you'd think your chance of dying by shark attack is low, right? But that is because no one routinely swims in shark-infested waters.

Same thing with Trinidad, once you stay out of the hotspots, or rather, don't get involved in illicit crime, you're safe.

Now by this same measure as I used the shark analogy, people die in car crashes way more. But that's because everyone uses cars, no one swims with sharks. If people were swimming with sharks as much as they were driving, you'd see the dangers of sharks.

America and most of the world is a place where your chance of dying in typical daily activity is far higher than in Trinidad.

Their 'car crash' rate (i.e. the chance of being killed by a terrorist attack or mass shooting) is far higher than it is in Trinidad.
