TTPBA Great Race 2019

Postby Numb3r4 » August 16th, 2019, 10:20 pm

What is the deal with the race this year?

Very quiet no activity at all here in Tobago some music but a lot less than previous years.

Also not seeing a lot of people.

Things that bad?

streamed the entire coverage to my television while I was doing other stuff- overall not bad given they havn't done it before and they were at mercy to what was being shown on the screen fro time to time.

Maybe next year it would be good to have the presenters in Tobago (rather than Petra St. in Woodbrook) so they can do post race interviews one time.

Anyways thanks for sharing otherwise I woulda missed this completely

Ah find Paramount does always breakdown as they start to hit the bocas, and like is always debris does be the cause..
But overall glad for the smaller crafts... Jesus is coming did really well for a cruiser type vessel.

Guardian - Team Energiza have won this year’s Trinidad and Tobago Great Race.

Driver Sheldon Edghill and throttleman Anthony Brash took the title after steering their 37’ Bowen past Tobago-owned boat Jesus is Coming in the waters between Toco and Store Bay, where the smaller Jesus is Coming found it a little more difficult due to the choppy waters.

Team Energiza never looked back after that and cruised to the overall title and the 95mph class trophy as well.

Veteran racer Ken Charles and his Mr Solo Too crew had to settle for second overall but lifted a record 17th 135mph title in his record 50th race.

Heat Wave was third overall and the 80mph winner while Jesus is Coming took the Cruiser Class title and was fourth overall.

Stay tuned for the official times on the race.

Or Power 102FM’s version

SPORT HIGHLIGHT:

Mr Solo Too claimed their 18th Great Race title this morning. The triumphant speedboat who entered the 135 mph category, was actually the second to arrive at Store Bay behind Energiza who’d entered the 95mph category.

The classes always are staggered with the 50mph going first
