A new political party - The Green Party of Trinidad and Tobago - .

Its symbol is a large green dot is registered with the Election and Boundaries Commission of Trinidad and Tobago.

The Green Party’s political leader is Dr. Everold Hosein who stated that the party will officially be launched on September 7.

According to a release, Hosein is a “distinguished Scholar at City University of New York, School of Public Health, and a Communication Advisor-Consultant to the United Nations (WHO, UNICEF, UNFPA, UNEP, UNWOMEN). He was born in California, Trinidad and Tobago, and attended Presentation College, San Fernando. His university education was at the University of Kansas and the University of Michigan,”.

Hosein stated that The Green party has a transformation agenda for Trinidad and Tobago, with the first priority being the introduction of a new education system for children from birth to 12 years of age. This agenda is on the party’s website: http://www.greenpartytt.com

“It is sad the kind of schools our young children have to endure,” said Hosein.

“The Green Party plans to have 160 new air-conditioned schools built for children age 9 months to 12 years in 4 years, with several additional features and major modifications to the curriculum and teaching methods, including no homework and no transitioning standardised tests (like in Finland).” he added.

Hosein stated that other priorities shared on the website will be: Health; Quality of Life including environmental issues, a national mass rapid transit system, arts and culture, enhance community life, free internet access, better urban planning; economic diversification including working towards a Universal Basic Income; Crime; Foreign and Caribbean Affairs; Governance.

“After nearly 60 years of Independence, it is time to turn Trinidad and Tobago into the fantastic Trinidad and Tobago it should be. The word “fantastic” and Trinidad and Tobago go nicely together. Note the two Ts in fantastic!” stated Hosein.

Intelligent fella but politics still based on race. As an indo-trini, many afro-trinis will watch him, his surname, stereotype, and write him off. Indo-trinis do the same when it comes to a new party with an afro as the leader.

The status quo remains, 2020 will still be a PNM vs UNC matchup.

Ambitious to launch a whole new party.
The amount of new parties on the landscape is a sign of a healthy democracy. Too bad the voterbase is a bunch of sheep.

PEP finally getting a contender for the lowest vote.

Duke might actually get plenty traction in Bago.

X factor 2 (Tobago swinging like balls)
COP (LOL, but deposits mostly safe)
PEP (LEL, Lost 40/41 deposits)

Trinidad has room for two "national" parties: the PNM and the opposition. The ILP and COP efforts have shown that we are not able to handle three options at a national level.

There is room for a third party in the two Tobago seats. The opposition in Tobago is different from the opposition in Trinidad. The story is the same: the PNM and the opposition.

who forms the opposition is variable. If Kamla loses the next election, the opposition mantle is wide open even for people like Mikela.

Not necessarily that we cant't handle it. ILP was founded by a corrupt individual who fell from grace after the FIFA report while COP bended over to the UNC in the long run and now is just the congress of a person - Carolyn.

We can handle a 3rd party, just not ready for it. We prefer the known than the unknown and that will change when the die hard grassroots becomes a minority.

sole purpose ILP was formed was to spite d unc & to give those who were rejected by d unc a chance to get into power , they didnt really give a fog bout d ppl

COP came about cause dooks & panday fell out but it evolved into a party for those who didnt want\like d unc\pnm mainly d unc , pnm ppl eh care they will die voting pnm so COP end up splitting d unc vote , then unc ppl got pissed over dat & d COP pretty much died

it good unc have sense not to even try to get tobago seats cause dat wud be like handing d pnm d win on a silver platter , i feel duke & dem have a chance over there but that sexual allegation hangs over his head ....

This is Trinidad and Tobago not Finland. Why on earth would we want to be like Finland. All those homosexuals reside in places like Finland plus its very good that he is getting into the head of those silly injuns to split Kamla's vote even more since they are always seeking to have some kinda connection with caucasians. These injuns want to dress like them, talk like them, eat like them precisely they want to be CAUCASIAN.
