UPDATE: A 43-year-old man has surrendered to police in connection with this incident.

A teacher is now dead after she was stabbed in front of her students on the first day of school.

The incident reportedly took place along lower George Street, Port of Spain, near a day-care centre.

From initial information, at about 7.30am the woman was confronted by someone she knows.

She was physically attacked and stabbed.

Eyewitnesses contacted the police and paramedics and the woman was rushed for medical treatment, but she succumbed to her injuries.

Investigations into the incident are continuing.

when u have no hope, u see no future, u have nothing to live for, u could do these things.

that, is why u need counselors at all facets of society to pick up on these people, and try to make a difference. gg cant work on these case, these a social issues that needs addressing.

the next ting is, the government have to create an environment conducive to growth, where people can see a better way, and an attainable path to reach there. u kno, like the american dream. but not as a pie in the sky ting, that it aint make sense fighting up.

It is said that a car described as a gold Almera bearing registration number PCL 1886 entered the bay area and four men wearing masks opened fire in the direction of the Isaiah and his father.
The 15-year-old received an injury to his right lower back. While his father was unhurt.
PC Singh and PC Ramkhelewan of the ERP South carried the boy to the San Fernando General Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Investigations are ongoing.
