2nd wave of Corona Virus sends China back into lockdown!
AH really hope our leaders read this and continue to decide to keep our International Borders CLOSED ....
No foreigners should be allowed in... US in a mess still and dont seem to be getting any better, Canada trying their best to try and also contain their cases, UK is a mess as their numbers are also growing.

Some good news...

The low-dose steroid treatment dexamethasone is a major breakthrough in the fight against the deadly virus, UK experts say.

The drug is part of the world's biggest trial testing existing treatments to see if they also work for coronavirus.

It cut the risk of death by a third for patients on ventilators. For those on oxygen, it cut deaths by a fifth.

Yesterday was the highest number of Covid cases reported since the pandemic has started. In a week or so we might see the highest number of deaths on a single day as well. New cases are coming primarily from Brazil, India, USA and Russia. BRIU

But are they in a state quarantine facility or allowed to home quarantine which risks community spread?

Not according to CNN.

Trump’s lil small rallies are said to be the “Super Spreaders” and there is a big uproar with no mask wearing.

The protestors are fighting for black lives and that is of importance right now, no need for them to SD and wear masks.

people forget what 'flattening the curve' was all about. The goal was to keep the new infection rate under the health care capacity. The lockdown bought enough time to get respirators, beds, test kits, swabs, N95 masks, etc, to be able to handle the healthcare situation competently.

And they have achieved that - you don't see any hospitals in the US getting overwhelmed with cases as happened back in March.

Even with the increase in cases, near-term hospital utilization is expected to be less than in March.

Protests and rallies likely contributed to the infection rate but the real culprit is apparently the return to normal mobility.

US Covid-19 deaths are currently projected to top 180K by October 1st. March 2020 estimates for total deaths before a vaccine in 2021 were from 200K to 1.7M with 1.2M deaths likely.

Trump administration defends defunding COVID testing in Texas, four other states

WASHINGTON — Elected officials from both parties joined together in recent days to push back against the Trump administration's intention to stop funding seven Texas coronavirus testing sites at the end of the month.

At issue are federal plans to stop funding sites in Houston, El Paso and Dallas on June 30, as first reported by Talking Points Memo. The sites are a small piece of a much longer list of sites across the state run by private entities, local governments and the state. But the lawmakers are calling for the federal government to keep funding them as the number of Texans testing positive for the virus soars in Texas, particularly in the Houston region.

Only time will tell if their health care capacity gets overloaded given the current record rates

Exactly it comes from the top.
Amazing how Trump seems to be allover the place unmasked and has not been infected to our knowledge.

The models used are refined versions of similar models that were developed because of the 1918 flu pandemic. They have only gotten better in the last century.

guess it's just a deterrent (if it's at a house/hotel as opposed to state facility like we have). of course gps trackers could be useful in this situation

many states/countries considering it- perhaps T&T could do that too for some travellers from lower risk countries if we have the devices- it will cost taxpayers less

texas is getting there. and if cases are surging in other states it will soon show itself in hospitals there as well- trump could reduce testing all he want but can't hide this fact

He probably had it. Why the ass he was taking hydroxychloroquine, a malaria drug, to "prevent coronavirus?"
Or maybe he was lying about that too so he could give his brain dead supporter some kind of stance that he was doing something?

You over-estimate the thinking of the orange retard clown-in-office.

Things bad with Covid in many many countries, given India's population size (if they can test at high enough rates), I expect them to reach 100k new cases daily soon enough.
Image

Take a good look at Venezuela, if Covid returns to Trinidad while borders are closed bet your ass it is coming from a Vene who snuck across the border.

If Government serious, they'd put up roadblocks and testing centers at Moruga, Quinam, Cedros etc.

Also, a question....I saw some of my IG friends take their Yacht to Grenada over the weekend.....is anyone monitoring yachties here? How is that possible?
