So allyuh dont know armored cars out long time?

Allyuh remember the Gocking brothers with the armored Lincoln Navigators?

Allyuh dont know plenty “businessmen” have armored vehicles already?

Come on Trinis, turn down the dramatics a notch, they already blowing out allyuh tax dollars on things alot more than this unnecessary sheit.

Was the security level disclosed ? Different levels have different protection abilities . Different companies have different specs too so unless this is provided , all is speculation . This is a security vehicle but pics reach social media . That shows National Security's capabilities . Those pics should never be on display . It defeats the whole purpose .

I remember hearing that they changed the order for APCs to another type of armoured vehicles . These could possibly be the replacements ? Based on the number that were purchased . If it was PM and president it might have been only two or three .

My question is WHY was this necessary? a government should have to answer for security measures this expensive and drastic.
Does the government have knowledge of some existing or future event that they will need such protection?

Why was money spent on this yet hundred of thousands of your own people cant get the measly Salary grant that they applied for??
We dont have money for the hospital and Airport and Toco port upgrades yet we buying this to protect them?
We really are a bunch of spineless idiots in this country...

They just getting things ready for themselves, like what politicians do in TT.

When they remove the gas subsidy next budget and raise gas prices again (despite global prices all time low) and the citizens still get nothing in return, then they will riot.

Yeah right.

But these things were driven of the port on April 8th meaning they were shipped at least a few weeks before that. The order for these predates Covid for sure. The lead time on these have to be a bit long and being RHD I assume maybe a bit longer.

Not defending the purchase just saying its unrelated to Covid assistance measures at least.

And those projects like Tobago airport, we didn't have the money to build it before as well. Its a CAF loan we were took.

its not unreasonable to think that a govt official would not feel safe knowing that

It is highly unlikely that Landcruiser is Gas, I would be very shock even if it does say V8.

Gas engines are incredibly unreliable when compared to Diesel, there is a reason the Hilux is so famous for being indestructible and also uses Diesel at the same time same with Toyota Land Cruisers.

so following the train of thought that since 7.62 rounds & firearms in that caliber are seemingly available to criminals, so is only politicians want/need/should have protection from bullets?

imho, they have no more right to "feel safe" than any other citizen, so that can't be the justification for excessively spending taxpayers $$$ on personal security equipment & enhancements, especially when we consider that the population at large isn't allowed to have the same or similar.

Heads of state have secure/protected transport.
Goes with the territory - no need for us plebs to question or demand justification for it.
