He said that he alone in the parliament supported the bill which also meant that members of the then pnm government didn't support it either. He did acknowledge this but still blaming the UNC specifically Wade Mark and Lifesport

The recovery program he wants to establish is more than likely to prevent anti-pnm sentiment in these disturbed communities which has the potential to reflect in the polls.

This is just like how the anti gang bill was supposed to enable the authorities to tackle the gang problem and reduce crime. If the opposition didn't support it, then the opposition would've been responsible for crime and gangs. Well they supported it and the law passed since 2018. Guess what, it's had absolutely no impact on gangs and crime.

Laws can't help us when the police service has a detection rate in the teens for murders and an even lower conviction rate.
