That is j5s, the bigger one

You could try nickel welding rods to weld the hole
Ask motor rewinding places they might have scrapped ones or a scrap iron yard.

Apparently it had a little leak and the person tried to put some epoxy to fix it. Still a slight leak. Was told today to remove the paint and get down to the cast iron material and have a straightener , brass weld it.

Gonna try that option if I'm not able to locate the clam shell housing tmre

that is worth a shot, due to the size of the housing they need to use serious heat to get it up to temp or the welding rod will not bond well. A muffler place might be able to do it also.

ideally you should remove it and see how inside is looking and weld/fill from inside,
on very old pumps with corrosion the inside is all rusted and the rust has big flakes which you will need to chisel off

mines rotten from the inside, wasnt too bad, looked worst than it was, pump all apart, all the drain plugs was super rotten, 5 mins and a few nuts and i welded and remove them all.

brass welding would work, needs tons of prep and someone experienced to do it.

Saw this on FB. Not too sure but I've always been told for a flat house 1/2 hp works well and for two storey 3/4 and up

for couple bathrooms/single family a 1/2 goulds should work 2 storey
that’s typical price with pressure tank, if you can afford install a larger pressure tank than the little one they does sell in them pkg deal.

avoid smart heads.

for maximum efficiency the intake to pump from water tank should be 1” all the way.
if you have the pressure switch set at 40-60 it will be real nice

ramlagans balmain usually has best prices.
