Lubetech used to... Not sure if they still sell to public and their prices are sometimes more expensive than retail outlets.

Most oils say that they can be mixed safely...I see no problem with mixing oils from the same brand

Myth: You can’t mix brands of motor oil.
Fact: Mixing brands is not the best practice because the additive systems in each may be different and when mixed may not function as efficiently as desired. However, no serious problems will occur if you must add a different brand of equivalent quality between oil changes. It is very important to maintain proper oil level.

So in my quest for more affordable oil... I came across Gulf Superfleet Supreme 15w40 conventional oil. Just over $500 for 20litres.
Still have a while to go before I use it though... The last of the Fleetforce synth is currently being used

Lange Trinidad... Contacted Chaguanas Branch to have it sent to another that was more convenient.
The container is not easy to pour from though.. There is another conventional oil available in a bucket for $600 as well

Just bought a 2007 Hilux Vigo 3.0

Guy I bought it from previously said he used Mobil 1 engine oil. It's not smoking at the moment and currently doing 100k km

Any recommendations for engine oil?

Mobil 1 synthetic or mineral as they manufacture both.

I recommend oil that meets specs listed in the owners manual. I like gulf because they sell both syn and mineral at affordable prices for 20l pails.

I have never used anything with viscosity lower than 5w40 though.

Once you change your oil regularly you good

I think someone posted in here that if you go from syntethic to mineral it starts to sludge. Is this true?

Just a gimmick to make u keep buying synthetic. Profit margin on synthetic is usually more than mineral. Your engine will run and have a long life span with mineral as long as you change it on time.

Exactly. Synthetics do provide better lubrication and longevity for seals but many ppl won't keep and engine that long so reap those benefits.
