Fellas need a little advice this is probably nothing but just wanted to check. I keep coming to a big puddle of water under the Navarra,
I found that the water is coming from what looks like a drain hose from the right hand side of the firewall going into the cabin.
I assume that it is water from the condenser draining off but there is alot of water so just wanted to be sure that it's just that.

Navara owners out there, I'm having a real concerning problem with mine not sure what the problem is. It's been about a week now I've noticed that anytime I start the engine, instead of cutting off, the oil light continues to blink for about 15-20 seconds while at the same time the display below the tach says "oil low". Both the light and "oil low" cuts off at the same time.
Oil level is on point...even changed it and filter to be certain..I tried the battery pole thing, ecu reset (by accelerator pedal)....still doing the same thing!
Only thing I could think of is a faulty oil pressure unit. Any suggestions or fixes? Thanks guys...

Turn on your ignition wait 3 seconds, then fully press accelerator pedal 5 times, release pedal and the wait 7 seconds and then fully press accelerator pedal for 7seconds until engine malfunction light flashes. You are now in learning mode. Let it flash for a bit. If you want u can also determine by the flashes if you have any error codes on the ecu. Now to reset the fuel pump ,while the EML is flashing fully press accelerator pedal for 10 seconds start you engine and go take a drive. The pump would factory reset and start learning how you drive for the first 2 miles and then store it on the ecu.

Good Evening tuners

I am asking for advice on a D22 4x4 Frontier with a ZD30DET engine.
I didn't get a manual with the vehicle when it was bought used, and it has about 130000Kms on the clock.

What brand of filters do you use for fuel and oil and how often do you change them?
The oil filter appears to be a cartridge type instead of the screw on type that i am accustomed to; is there anything i should look out for when changing the filter?

The vehicle appears to have an EGR system in it which has been known to cause heavy soot build up in the intake of most vehicles that have them.
Has anyone ever removed their intake for cleaning or can an of the shelf product like Liqui moly Diesel intake system cleaner work? Has anyone gone as far as installing an EGR blanking plate?

What type of oil does the gearbox, transfer case and diffs use?

Is their anything else I should give attention to or look out for at this mileage, assuming that minimal service was done in the past

thanks for taking the time

When I asked massy about the gear oil they said castrol but I'm not limited to that option. Stuck to castrol for my box though.
Using valvoline engine oil (syn) and filters were hard to get some months back. Bought like 3 purolators and have them but this is for the td27 model. Been using that same brand awhile now anyways.

@ sliderz1

Thanks for linking the other thread; Good info in that thread. I have some work to do. It appears that no one has blocked off or restricted there egr system in the zd30.
When i get the chance to service the van i will see how bad the intake deposits are; still on the fence on how i should clean it though

Have you checked to see if the air intake hose is collapsing under the vacuum created by the turbo
It has been mentioned in this thread before

I'm referring to the tube between air filter and turbo. .... which should have the most vacuum under full boost...
Pre turbo intake tube; not the tube after the turbo

What is your view on rebuilding the turbo; Team Loco might be able to rebuild it for you.

On another note
ZD30 oil change in D22 Frontier completed

Tools/Parts:
1/2" drive Ratchet
22mm Socket
Cheater Pipe ("snipe")
half 5 Gallon container (To collect used engine oil below vehicle)
Sakura Cartridge filter (EO-1801)
2 Gallons Chevron Delo 400LE 15w40 oil

Wow that sump holds a lot of oil (About 7+ quarts). It also takes quite a while to drain. Plug faces the front of the vehicle making it slightly easier to access. Removing the filter housing is a bit painful as there isn't a lot of room if you don't have like a 1-2" extension; The air filter tube is mostly in the way. Other than that every thing else went smoothly.

Next up....might look at changing the oil in the drivetrain components.
Haven't taken time to look at the intake; some hoses look like they might be on their way out
