Is the vehicle regularly serviced and at what intervals?
Is the oil level proper?/when last have you had an oil change?
Do you notice any smoke when idling or when the vehicle is making the noise you describe?

how long has this been happening/how long have you noticed this for?

It could be injectors; and this just might be a normal diesel trait...but we don't have any info on your van to work with except what was said

Try using red line for a few fill ups
My van used to be real loud on startup so much so the neighbours asked if it was a tractor.
Since I started using Injector cleaners very very quite

Vehicle is serviced approx every 5000K
Oil level is at max, oil changed last week
No smoke when idling or when making noise
Noise is heard ESPECIALLY when vehicle is COLD and accelerating, very lightly when idling
Has been happening approx 6 months now.

Tried diesel purge as well as Prestone injector cleaner but no improvement.

It is strange that you should mention a 6 month time frame cause it sounds like just about the time fuel started being imported

Really hope you get through cause it starting to sound more like fuel/injectors (not that the injectors are bad but they are being used)

I had same problem changed my filters and used red line and the problem disappeared

Factory recently changed over to K n N

Maybe filter oil on sensor?

When opening the coolant reservoir first and then the actual radiator is it normal to see inside by the radiator completely dry, the fins inside and all with the car cool . Is it possible that the hose from the overflow bottle ever blocks ?

Your radiator and cooling circuit should be purged of air.

Sold my l200 recently and jumping back into the 4wd game.
Getting a good price on a bone stock Navara 2013, one owner, low mileage @ just below 120k kms.

Anything I should look out for?
So far the vehicle appears to be in excellent condition.
Brake pedal feels a little soft, but that's the only thing I picked up in my short test drive.

My mech will be giving it a proper go-over before I buy.

see if u can find out about the 4x4 engagement part. i once got a drive with some one to check out some land at it was giving them trouble. i not sure if its an issue, but u can find out.

my frontier has the same hieght, but a lot more ground clearance, so u could look into the lift kits.
the frontier has skid plates for the front of the vehicle for the front diff and for the gas tank. it came wtih zbart(sp) to protect the underparts. all the ports, like for the shifter and cables, and steering are protected wtih rubber sheet pass throughs so water doesnt come in. not just insulation, but actual water proofing. i once waded through water up to the headlights, and started to float the the rear tires.

so u could check out thjngs like that for the water wading, and ground fouling.

Hello All,

I did a conversion recently on a D22 Frontier, from YD25 to QD32, I have some minor things to finish.

One of which is the AC System, I got the lines made and connect to the QD32 Compressor.

The issue is that the Switch in the Van does not send power to the Compressor, No voltage is sent to the Relay.

If you connect power directly to the Compressor it works. I had no issues with it before I did the Conversion.

I am thinking that the ECU is not seeing any RPM and therefore is not sending any signal to the Relays.
I am also looking at the Pressure switch for the AC.

Anyone got the D22 to read RPM Signal from the QD32 engine?

Guys looking to check out a 2012 4x4 manual d40. What common issues to look out for? Not sure of the milage, looks like a buy and sell guy. Thanks. These got turbo and engine issues?

Anyone ever had trouble with the d40 turbo boost solenoid. I know it supposed to be pulsing but mines sending vacuum to the actuator all the time (boost all the time). Its not stuck cause i replaced it with a new one, and still doing the same thing.

Does anyone know where I can get the auto locking hubs for the d22 frontier?

Fastrac most likely will have it, here's a number for them 317-5166. You can also buy it from Amazon I believe it's about 200 US plus shipping for the pair.
